How to apply for an Earle Fund bursary

A place at Bilton Grange is the start of a unique educational journey, and provides a life-changing experience. The Earle Fund offers up to 110% bursary support towards fees and extras for a boarding place at Bilton Grange, with a bursary pathway to Rugby School under the auspices of the Arnold Foundation.

You are welcome to make an application for a bursary if you are a parent, guardian or a partner organisation. Students can enter the school at 11+ (year 7 or year 8). We have listed the relevant timings, deadlines and details below, together with an outline of what is involved.

If you would like any extra information or clarification, please email admissions@biltongrange.co.uk and we will be delighted to telephone you to discuss details.

Our eligibility criteria

The Earle Fund bursary is here for students who show the potential to excel academically and continue to Rugby School (the transition to year 9 is subject to a successful outcome in Common Entrance).

A boarding school education is not right for every child. For students ready to embrace the opportunity, Rugby provides a unique experience which nurtures the whole person. To grow as a rounded individual, students are expected to embrace the two-way nature of their award and make a positive contribution to the school community.

To qualify for bursary support, all parties with parental responsibility must be assessed as eligible, through our means-testing process. Full details will be provided during the application process.

Applying for a 11+ (year 7) place

The application process begins in September when the candidate joins Year 6.

1. Applications must start with a referral from a partner organisation.

2. A Preliminary Information Form should be completed and returned to the Bilton Grange Admissions Office by 9th December with assessments planned for 4th February.

3. The Admissions team at Bilton Grange will organise a visit and assessment day involving Rugby School pastoral staff. This is likely to be during the spring term of Year 6.
